Kelly Clarkson performance with her kids at Bakkt Theater

Kelly Clarkson had an amazing live performance of her famous song “Heartbeat Song,” and it was super special because her 9-year-old daughter, River Rose, and her son, Remington “Remy” Alexander, joined her on stage. This happened during her concert at the Bakkt Theater in Las Vegas, Nevada, where the family sang the popular synth-pop song together.

River Rose sang along with her mom because “Heartbeat Song” is her favorite. Clarkson picked this song for them to perform together. Remy seemed really comfortable on stage, not bothered at all by the big crowd watching. Check out the video below to see this sweet family moment!

River Rose has been jamming to this song since she was really little! She loves it a ton, and when Clarkson asked the audience which song she wanted to sing on tour, River Rose was super excited and said, “Please let me sing this song.” Clarkson also mentioned that River Rose picked out her own outfit and when she got to perform live, Clarkson said the kid “totally nailed it” during soundcheck.

Fans showed how much they loved seeing the mother-daughter duo perform together by sharing comments like, “That’s a moment she will always remember.” When she stepped onto the stage for the first time with her mom, everyone was excited, saying, “A star is born!” River Rose found the bravery to sing her heart out because of Kelly. We really admire you, Kelly! The next night, Clarkson invited River Rose to sing again, and her 7-year-old brother, Remington Alexander, joined in to make it even more special.

Kelly Clarkson was married to her manager, Brandon Blackstock, and together they had two kids. Their daughter, River Rose, was born in June 2014, and their son, Remington Alexander, came along in April 2016. They got married on October 20, 2013. However, after a long legal battle, their divorce was finalized in March 2022, which got a lot of media attention.

The first single from Kelly Clarkson’s seventh album, Piece by Piece, is called “Heartbeat Song.” It became her biggest hit in the past decade and was really popular, even going platinum in the United States. The song topped the US Dance Club Songs chart and did well on many other charts around the world, reaching as high as number ten.

The song “Heartbeat Song” was created by songwriters Mitch Allan, Kara DioGuardi, Jason Evigan, and Audra Mae, but there was some disagreement about where the song came from. Critics pointed out that the tune and chords sounded a lot like Jimmy Eat World’s popular alternative rock song “The Middle,” which came out in 2001.

After facing some backlash, Clarkson explained, “I only performed the song; I didn’t create it.” I didn’t catch that part, though. It seemed like no one was involved behind the scenes. I really liked how Jimmy Eat World said, “Hey, no harm, no foul,” which was super chill. There are only so many chords to use. Even though it looked like they could win in court, Jimmy Eat World decided not to pursue the lawsuit, and they still aren’t listed as co-writers for the song “Heartbeat Song.”
